We have made flight reservations
for
Atlanta on Delta Airlines. We are trying to minimize the amount of
school each girl has to miss.
As long as we have at least 10 in
each group, we can have a choice between flying there on Wednesday afternoon, or
taking the red eye Wednesday night. I need to turn in a flight list with names and which flight you
want. Please give me the following
information by Friday night, February 15:
_____ I want to fly on Wednesday
afternoon, be at San Francisco
Airport by
noon .
_____ I want the red eye
Wednesday night, be at San Francisco
Airport by
8:30 PM .
_____ I can take either flight to
help fill quota of 10 and earn Diane's
gratitude.
We will all fly home together,
leaving Atlanta at
10:50 AM and arriving at SFO at
1:03 PM on Sunday. All flights booked are non-stop! We will take MARTA to and from the
airport.
The marketing committee is trying
to get adequate sponsorship to cover the costs of the trip for our entire
team. If they succeed, you will
only have to pay the $100 dues to the troop, plus pay for breakfast (last year
the girls brought food for breakfast), lunches, and incidentals. We are spending about $700 per girl for
the flights, hotel, dinners, and their share of the leaders’ costs. You will be liable for any portion of
that $700 not raised by the marketing committee. As always in Girl Scouts, no girl will
be turned away for lack of funds; if this is a bad year for your family, please
let me know how much you can pay and you will be marked down as “paid in
full”.
If you sign up and then decide
not to go, you will be expected to reimburse the team for the flight and your
portion of the leaders’ costs and you will have a ticket on Delta to use
up. If you find someone else to
take your place, you would only have to pay the airline’s $75 fee to change the
name on the ticket.
Parents are welcome to fly with
us as long as you tell me which flight by this Friday. Your ticket will cost $355. We have 2 adults on the afternoon flight
and one on the red eye, so we need another adult to help the group navigate
Atlanta after the red eye. Adults should make their own hotel
reservation. The team is staying at
the Omni Hotel right next to the Georgia Dome (where the competition takes
place).
Please give me your flight preference as soon as
possible.
